Congratulations to Don and Eileen Tozzo! These two members of Hamden Lodge were recently honored at the Connecticut Elks Association 2014 Convention as recipients of the prestigious Veteran’s Volunteer of the Year Award. Chosen from nominees throughout Connecticut Lodges, an award is given each to a male and a female volunteer, who has shown dedication and commitment to Veterans. Both have lived by the Elks motto, “So Long As There Are Veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Will Never Forget Them.” Hamden Lodge is proud of the dedication and commitment to Veterans shown by Don and Eileen as active Elks Members. Organizing and participating in numerous fundraisers and dinners to benefit the Hamden Lodge Veteran’s fund; having collaborated with local organizations such as Post 88, Governor’s Foot Guard and Hamden Veteran’s Coalition to raise funds and awareness for projects such as American Warriors and Fisher House to accommodate families of those receiving treatment at the West Haven VA Hospital, to name a few.
